7 Months

The babies turned 7 months on April 17th. This month the babies became more mobile than they've ever been. They are not exactly crawling yet, but somehow they manage to roll and turn themselves across the room. Anna started getting up on all fours and rocking. She first started doing this in her crib, then we noticed her doing it on the floor too. We are expecting her to crawl any day now. Her brother is not quite as anxious about getting on the move, although he's started rocking on all fours in his crib now too. John may not care about crawling, but he is a master log roller :)

Anna is so strong using her arms to push herself up!
Anna and John both love their Puffs! At first they weren't exactly sure about the taste and texture, but now they are chowing them down and yelling for more :)

The babies really enjoy the "touch and feel" books. They especially love the animal "touch and feel" books. I think their favorite pages are the bunny and duck. Their little hands are so cute reaching out to touch the pages. They of course also like to chomp on their books :)

Each of them enjoy looking in mirrors too. One day I saw John with his head down on his exersaucer and I wondered what he was up to.  I realized he was getting as close as he could to the mirror and cracking up at himself. It was hysterical watching him look at himself and laughing over and over again. Anna also enjoys her reflection and thinks she's pretty cute, and I agree :)

The babies are sitting up with assistance. They aren't quite steady enough to sit for very long by themelves. We are anxiously awaiting the time when they can both sit up all by themselves.  They are getting close, but not quite there yet.

Anna likes imitating sounds and playing the "eh" game which pretty much conists of her saying or screaming "eh" and mommy or daddy repeating it back to her. This keeps Anna entertained for quite some time and alays make us smile :)

The babies love playing with each other and stealing toys from one another. They still love the toys on their play gyms and anything they can hold in their hands. They favor rattles and love their maracas and drum.

My favorite activity is probably our daily walks. We have such a pretty neighborhood to walk around and always enjoy strolling by Mirror Lake or walking along the trail to the Conservatory.  John usually snoozes, no matter what time of day we go, but Anna likes to keeps me company. We have been so lucky with great weather. Hopefully it won't be too hot this summer!!

Look at that smile :)

Busy Babies

These babies have been traveling maniacs since I've last blogged. After our trip to Pittsburgh over Easter, we went to Indy, Cleveland (twice), and momma took a quick trip to Chicago for a very special baby shower for Danielle. Phew... I think it's safe to say we are all a little exhausted from all of the traveling. Also within those weeks I spilled water on my keyboard and all of the keys weren't working, so I had to take a little hiatus from the blog, but we are back! Here's a brief summary of our travels!

Love this picture!

Cleveland:  We headed to Cleveland for two special occasions- one for Brian's first communion and the other to celebrate Tracey's 40th birthday!  The babies enjoyed seeing all of their family members on the Brich side and epecially loved playing with their couins- Sean, Brian and Regan.  Baby Boy was not very cooperative at church, although he looks rather angelic in the photo! Let's just say he was very vocal, while his sister fell asleep in her daddy's arms. It was a beautiful day for Brian's special celebration and we enjoyed a yummy lunch at the Murphy's house after church.  For some reason we didn't take any photos at the bday party, but we had a great time having dinner at the Winking Lizard and then drinks at the Murphy's. Unfortunately we didn't get to stay very long because the babies were super tired, so we headed to the Sr. Briches and called it a night :)

A very special first Mother's Day

After my quick trip to Chicago for Danielle's baby shower, I headed back to Cincinnati just in time for Mother's Day.  The Sr. Briches came down for the weekend to give John a hand while I was away so it was nice that we were all together to celebrate Mother's Day. When I got home late Saturday night, I was greeted by everyone hanging out on the back porch enjoying the beautiful evening. I was also greeted with my favorite bottle of wine- Kim Crawford Savignon Blanc, as well as beautiful pink and orange tulips. I knew this Mother's Day was going to be really special. On Sunday we went to brunch at J. Alexander's and all ate like kings and queens.  The babies lasted about an hour at lunch before needing to go home for a nap, which I thought was pretty good! They really spoiled me on my first Mother's Day. They each got me a card, a framed picture of the two of them together, and a gift certificate to an amazing spa. All in all, it was an extra special day that John worked really hard to put together and it was orchestrated perfectly:)

Anna loves her octopus. It just had to come to brunch ith us.

My to favorite boys :)
