Big boy bed

At the end of August we decided to transition John from his crib to his toddler bed. Many of you know that John has been sleeping on the floor since we've moved into our new house. So, we figured that it was time to take down the crib and make it into his toddler bed. For a few weeks prior we put his mattress on the floor. Even with his mattress on the floor, most nights he preferred to sleep on the floor. We have no idea why!!! He's now been in his big boy bed for about a month, but has still not spent an entire night in it. Again, we have no idea why!!!

First night in his big boy bed- lasted about 5 minutes!

Love that smile, although he's supposed to be napping!

Poor John needed a pick me up :)

Poor John...

Anna and John were fooling around before bed, and boom! Anna pushed John into the TV stand and cut above his left eye. It was definitely a panic moment for mom and dad. Luckily our friends Erin and Mike were visiting and they helped out a ton! We decided to have John put Anna to bed and I ventured to Children's Hospital with John. The experience wasn't terrible and John was a very good boy. I'm glad that ones over!!

After John's stint in the ER, I decided it was time to do something fun for him :) A nearby park was having an event called Touch a Truck. They had army vehicles, police cars, fire engines, garbage trucks, and all kinds of tractors and such. Needles to say, both Anna and John had a blast. We even lucked out with a cool summer day.

And more summer fun...

A trip to the zoo was also in order this summer. This was the first time we gave Anna and John a little freedom. We took our wagon but they had a blast running from animal to animal. They felt like big kids :)

Ahhhhh! Anna got hit with a spray of water!

More goats!!

Awwww :)

Along with visiting Gorman Farm with our friends, Anna and John enjoyed seeing another species at Krohn Conservatory. We visited the butterfly show there which showcased butterflies from Costa Rica. Anna and John loved running through the exhibit with butterflies flying all around. Anna actually kept saying, "Ewwww!" but I know she had fun:)

When you enter the exhibit, they hand you a black and white card that attracts butterflies. We didn't have any land on our cards but one did land on John's shirt!

My attempt at getting a nice pic by the flowers:)

More summer fun...

Not only are John and Anna loving their new digs this summer, they are having a blast exploring their new neighborhood and welcoming special visitors!  Check out what we've been up to during these summer months:)

We visited Gorman Farm twice this summer- once with our twin friends Chase and Chloe and second with our friends from Indy- Rae Ann, Saleh and Zakir.  Both times we visited were hot, hot, hot!!

Zakir using his muscles to pull the twins :)

Thank goodness Ran Ann was there because I was too scared to help A and J feed the goats! Rae was a pro, of course:)

Big boy Saleh loved the goats!
